Here are a few tips to make customized hockey jerseys at Artik Toronto. You can watch our video on printing custom hockey jerseys here.

Which Hockey Jersey to Choose?

Hockey jerseys come in so many colours, shapes, sizes and materials. In general, they come as either Polyester Knit Hockey Jerseys or Polyester Mesh Hockey Jerseys.

Polyester is used because unlike cotton, it doesn’t retain moisture or sweat, and remains dry. Game jerseys come in mid to heavy knit or polyester mesh. Game jerseys have features such as double shoulders or double elbows.

Practice jerseys are similar but usually come in lighter weights.

Practice hockey jerseys can save you on game day!

Custom Practice Hockey Jerseys

Ever have a practice Thursday and a game Friday? What are you gonna do? Having a customized practice hockey jersey will ensure that your game jersey is always clean and ready for game day.

Customizing Hockey Jerseys for your Whole Team

Usually teams wil have a main front design with numbers and names on the back. We suggest that your main design is bold. Having a big bold logo on the front of your hockey jersey will make it visible on a fast-moving hockey player in the midst of the heat of the game.

Screen printing the front of a hockey jersey

Be sure to understand what’s included in the price of your customized hockey jerseys. We quote the price with a one colour print. Additional colours and setup costs are extra. Screen printing on the front of the jersey is the preferred method – it’s cost effective and long-lasting.

Names and numbers cost extra, and as you can see require a separate process. We use a vinyl cutting machine to cut player names and numbers. The vinyl is heat sealed onto the hockey shirt at a high temperature creating a permanent bond.

Adding names and numbers to the back of a jersey

Jersey Ordering Tip: What if a new player joins or someone forgets their jersey? Usually the minimum order is twelve hockey jerseys, but it may be a good idea to order a few extra shirts with numbers and designs but no player names. You can always bring it back in to add new player names!

Consider extra accessories to complete your hockey jersey – matching coloured custom hockey socks, undershirts, pants and referee uniforms.

Great! Now you’ve placed your order with the Artik staff and you’re ready to have some fun on the ice!

PS: How to wash your hockey jerseys

Hockey Jersey Washing Tips: Don’t dry clean your jerseys if they’re screen printed. Wash inside out with no bleach. Wash with similar colours, hand dry or put them in the dryer on low heat for 15 minutes, then hang to dry completely.
